Culture and Color

Culture and Color HGTV enthusiast allende loves color and is not scared to use it. In her master bedroom, she's a strong statement with exotic fabrics in vibrant golds, reds and blues, but lightens up the appearance with white bedding and an airy canopy.

Blossoming Bedroom Sleep one of the beauty of nature. When paired with flowery materials, spring greens and rosy pinks give this bedroom a garden feel. Hints of black insert only enough contrast to the pastel palette. Design by HGTV enthusiast Belle Interiors.

Unconventional Colors A girl's bedroom does not have to be pink and needs to be feminine. HGTV fan angelineguido used blues, greens, browns and a splash of orange to look this diverse teenaged girl's bedroom. The vivid colours and bold designs are well balanced and also make the room feel girly and fun but not too fussy.

Adaptable Design If your taste in decor changes frequently, consider a simple color scheme so you can easily provide your bedroom a fresh look. HGTV fan tmo chose versatile white and black, allowing her to alternate between green and red accessories to suit her present mood.

Chic Nursery A rich color palette is one way to attain elegance in a nursery school. This palette of subdued gray, brown, lavender and only a bit of traditional pink is a stunning and chic mix. Contain lush fabrics all the way up the ceiling to get an additional layer of luxury. Design by HGTV fan Little Crown Interiors.

Golden Elegance Gold and luxurious go awry, which explains precisely why this bedroom seems so grand. Interior designer Troy Beasley combined muted golds in rich textures with clean, geometric furniture to create a contemporary space that seems lavish yet comfortable.

Dynamic Design Red could be an unconventional color for a bedroom, but when done well, it's a strong style statement. HGTV enthusiast  innerworksdesign energized this bedroom with a red accent wall and carried the color up into the tray ceiling. Black, modern furniture is a striking contrast.

Glam Guest Room Small on space but big on style, this bedroom exudes elegance with glossy, gray bedding from a background of metallic, purple wallpaper. HGTV fan Smoodgie complemented the glamorous color palette using a crystal chandelier and glitzy accent pieces.

Modern and Masculine If you want to create a contemporary bedroom, consider a bold palette of contrasting colors. HGTV fan   rocketman72 created a deep-blue focal-point wall adjacent to a yellow wall with a red accent stripe. Vibrant, geometric-print bedding and colorful artwork bring the colour palette collectively.

Red, White and Green Do not be afraid to stray from traditional colors when designing a child's bedroom. HGTV enthusiast mom22boyz paired moss-green walls with red comforters to create a boy's bedroom that is classic yet uncommon.

Spa-Like Space Employing soft reds and blues, interior designer Ann Wisniewski turned this bedroom into a restful retreat. While active patterns invigorate a space, solid blocks of muted color set the tone for a calm space.

Timeless Yet Trendy A versatile colour mix, white and black can be used to combine a traditional appearance with contemporary design. HGTV fan   Hilky paired black-and-white routines -- both classic and modern -- with green accent pieces and deep-purple art for a pop of color.

Romantic in Red A reddish bedroom can be dramatic and striking, but it can also be soft and inviting. When reddish walls are blended with lavish, white bedding and sepia-toned artwork, this bedroom oozes with romance and passion. Design by Marie Burgos.

One With Nature When designing the master bedroom to the HGTV Dream Home 2009, interior decorator Linda Woodrum was motivated by the lush Sonoma landscape and chose a paint colour so. Vivid green walls paired with creamy, white bedding create this dreamy space feels like it is one with the treetops.

Pattern Success If you want a bedroom that is full of pattern and texture, picking the ideal colour palette will be able to help you pull it off. In this space, soft shades of yellow and gray together with serene blue walls give a calming effect to some lively mixture of stripes and florals. Layout by Erinn Valencich.

Nautical Nursery Deep, royal-blue walls accented with white wainscoting and eye shadow stripes give this boy's nursery a clean, crisp appearance that is also dynamic and unexpected. Design by HGTV enthusiast babyhooddesign.

Soothing Hues A bedroom should be a place that beckons you to relax and unwind; a muted colour palette is the ideal fit. In this master bedroom, subdued reds, greens and grays help make a serene sleeping space. Layout by Rate HGTV fan   Monica5113.

Perked-Up Partitions Vividly hued walls could be intimidating to use; the key is choosing the perfect decor and accessories. Interior designer Erinn Valencich pairs vibrant green partitions with classic, black-and-white bedding for a look that is bright and fresh but not overwhelming.

Pretty in Pink If you are thinking pink, think beyond pastel shades. HGTV fan   trendytoes chose a glowing pink for this girl's bedroom and installed beadboard wainscoting to balance out the intensity of the color. A floral duvet plus a pink tulle bed skirt finish this off ultra-girly space.

Warm and Welcoming HGTV fan   DPJohnson utilized a color palette of deep, chocolate browns to make a rich, inviting bedroom. The crisp, white bedding and vivid green accents keep the room from feeling overly dim.
